• Experience of architecting scalable distributed applications
• Knowledge of patterns and their trade-offs in a distributed environment
• Software engineering experience in one or more programming languages (Java preferred)
• Must enjoy working in a team of like-minded and intelligent people to solve complex problems
• Ability to adapt, develop skills and learn new technologies to meet the business needs of a fast-growing technology firm
• Experience of relational and/or NoSQL databases for large datasets desirable
• Message queueing systems – RabbitMQ / ActiveMQ / Kafka - beneficial
• Cloud platforms
• Container orchestration systems – Kubernetes / Openshift

• Design and architecture of new platform and solution features.
• Help in the shaping of the platform architecture to meet strategic objectives going forward.
• Work closely with development teams, tech leads and customer/market-facing product managers to understand product requirements and collaborate with tech leads to build technical designs.
• Take an active role within development teams, communicating the architecture, working with the team to prove and collaboratively evolve the architecture.
• Provide technical SME consulting services to other functions across the wider business when needed.
